¹⁰ Then too, I saw the wicked buried^(A)—those who used to come and go from the holy place and receive praise^[a] in the city where they did this. This too is meaningless.

⁵ The Lord provided a deliverer^(A) for Israel, and they escaped from the power of Aram. So the Israelites lived in their own homes as they had before.

Jonah’s Prayer

¹⁷ Now the Lord provided^(A) a huge fish to swallow Jonah,^(B) and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

² Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to meet.”

And he said, “Go.”

³ “Then you will go on from there until you reach the great tree of Tabor. Three men going up to worship God at Bethel^(A) will meet you there. One will be carrying three young goats, another three loaves of bread, and another a skin of wine.
